According to the Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility Institute, total performance of participants to the Sustainability Index 2020 reached 75.4%, seeing an increase by almost 30% compared to the first year of assessment, back in 2010.
"Sustainability in a corporate environment has long ceased to be just a fashion trend. It is a lifestyle of organisations playing a significant role in both their development and public and also in national and global development in general. Therefore, in our opinion, it is good that increasingly more organisations in Latvia turn to sustainable and responsible entrepreneurship. As follows from the Sustainability Index results, currently environmental issues are the main focus, and it is the environment category where performance of participants have grown most this year — by 6.7% reaching 74.6%. We hope that under complicated circumstances we are facing right now the organisations will not leave behind the environmental issues while dealing with “survival”, Dace Helmane, the Head of Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility Institute and coordinator of Sustainability Index, points out.
The Sustainability Index is a strategic management tool designed for the assessment of organisation risk and process control principles according to internationally acclaimed methodology.
