WE USE WATER RESOURCES RESPONSIBLY

We comply with international water resource protection standards. All the production plants in Poland have implemented the European water resource management certificate in accordance with the European Water Stewardship (EWS) guidelines.

A surveillance audit is carried out every year, and a recertification audit is carried out every three years.

WE REDUCE WATER CONSUMPTION IN PRODUCTION

In 2010-2019, we reduced it from 2.04 L of water per 1 L of beverage to 1.78 L. Each of the three Coca-Cola HBC production plants has implemented water resource protection programmes. In Radzymin, we installed a special filter that allows us to fully recover water from the installation cleaning process.

At the same time, at the Staniątki plant, we have modified the can rinsing process – we replaced traditional water washers with ionised air washers. We also recover 75% from rinsing PET bottles, which allows us to save 25,000 cubic metres of water yearly.

WE INVEST IN INNOVATIONS

We have implemented a project allowing for recovering water from the nanofiltration concentrate in our production plant in Radzymin. Previously, the nanofiltration concentrate was discharged in full to the sewage treatment plant.

The process creates 120,000 cubic metres of sewage yearly. The new RO (reverse osmosis) unit, where the concentrate is directed, ensures a 50% recovery of this volume. This means saving 60,000 cubic metres of water each year.

EACH DROP COUNTS

Thanks to responsible water extraction and the use of a closed circuit in Tylicz (reusing the extracted water for processing purposes, e.g., for internal washing and cooling of the machines), we save between 50,000 and even up to s120,000 litres every day.
